  One of the best Safeways in the city. It's large and has everything you will need. It's clean, it's modern, and has a Tim Hortons in it. Staff are friendly and always willing to help.

  It's not that the place is awful in of itself, it's a grocery store and they have groceries but there are a lot of little thing that add up. The produce is frequently unappealing, which for me is a big red x for this place. They have a water filling station here but it works maybe 30% of the time. The people who work here are nice but there's a few people who work here who you can tell hate you for being here, even if you're nice as pie. Which I understand, working retail is no picnic, but it doesn't help an already poor experience. The prices are pretty high here as well. Additionally, I've had a ridiculous amount of unsavoury interactions with other customers here as well. Not sure if it's just that the people who come here are mean spirited or if I illicit these reactions but I've never had so many bad experiences in one grocery store with other patrons before. All in all, I'd say if you can manage it, go somewhere else for your grocery needs.

  Reading through the other reviews, I can tell at least a few are for the location on River/Osborne and not this one which is by Kylemore/Osborne. There is no Tim Hortons here. There is barely even a Safeway.
  
  This location is small, with a very restricted selection of meats, produce, bakery products, and deli items. They reduced the bakery section recently so it's incredibly bare bones, but you can usually get buns or bread.
  
  It's also not cheap. If I'm looking to be frugal, I'll head down to the Superstore or Food Fare.
  
  But it is almost never busy, and has all the basics you need to stay alive as a human. It's convenient if you live in Fort Rouge. It's clean, and most of the people I've encountered working there seem nice enough and have been there as long as I've lived in the area.
